The Brooklyn

This is my favourite of the BOMC offerings so far. Great pattern by Swoon.

I made the handbag size and it’s a wee bit small. Definitely will be making the traveler size.

I used some textured vinyl for the accents, a fun print for the exterior and an organic cotton I got at Purl Soho for the interior. Lots of hardware and bling on this one.

Gabby! The April Bag of the Month

This was a really interesting sew. Janelle of Emmaline Bags uses really unique construction techniques on her bags and this is no exception.

This was my first time using this particular vinyl. It is flannel-backed. Didn’t really give me any trouble. The exterior is an Allison Glass linen. The lining is a quilting cotton, also by Allison Glass. I used pre-made leather straps.

January Bag of the Month

She’s done and she’s a beauty! The Backgammon Bag by Betz White is the first pattern in the 2016 Bag of the Month Club.

I decided to make it from Essex Linen and some delicious Tula Pink prints. I’m very happy with how this turned out. My first time installing a twist lock and it’s straight!

Added a little bling on the outside and some contrasting fabric and zipper to the internal zippered pocket.

Blindfold Me Baby mystery quilt along

It takes a lot for me to go on faith and follow a quilt along without knowing what the final outcome is going to look like. Thankfully, I have faith in the uber talented Sharon Blackmore of Love Shack Quilts.

Right now, I”m working on her Blindfold Me Baby mystery quilt – available only by joining the fun group over at the Prairie Quilt Militia on Facebook. I chose – of course – 50 shades of gray for my fabrics.

Some of the little HSTs made so far.

Same HSTs with some sashing attached. Loving my quirky fabrics.
