A couple of Christmas mag mats – one for me, one for a quilting friend. Cute, no?

People who type in all caps.  Not only is it annoying, it’s also hard to read. Our brains see the shapes of words so when you type in all caps you take away that ability.

Found an excellent article that explains this in good detail and with a great example:

Just don’t do it. Especially in email. Then it’s also rude. Unless you meant to be yelling at me?

here’s block no. 8. I LOVE this one. It was fun to make and I’m really pleased with how it came out.

Summer Sampler Series - Lucky Pieces block

This one is an interesting colour and shadow play. I had great fun deciding on which fabrics to use. It required being careful to only use one strong pattern with the rest being more subtle And I didn’t even mind all those HSTs!

Been working my way through the blocks in the Summer Sampler Series. Some I like; some I don’t! More photos:

New trailer

Trailer kitchen

OK – so she’s a trailer, but given my propensity for naming things, it was fitting that she get a great name, too! We just got her and we’re really looking forward to taking her out on an inaugural camping trip. She’s a hybrid, which means that she has a queen size bed at each end that folds down. This means she goes from 16 ft closed to 22 ft open. Really makes a small trailer seem much bigger.

I’m just thrilled that she has a good size shower and a tv/dvd combo! I’m such a princess!

Trailer shower - I am a princess...

TV/DVD in our new trailer

OK – so I skipped no. 4…. but only for a little while. I’ll get back to it, just couldn’t face anymore HSTs right away.

I love how this Star block turned out! Think I probably should have used less patterns but I still think it looks nice and graphic, which is what I was going for.

Summer Sampler Series - Star Block

It’s a cold and windy day today so my goal is to try to get two more blocks done. See how it goes. I’ve started to think about sashing for this, too. Thinking black?

I officially dislike half square triangles – and there are quite a few in this block. But I like how it turned out. The red actually has small black dots scattered all over it. And it’s a bit more blood red than tomato red.

Summer Sampler Series - Mosaic Block

I’ve been mulling ovhatshat to do with some great black & white fabrics I have in my stash and stumbled upon this quilt along on the Freshly Pieced blog. Perfect!

Here are my first two blocks. Nice and graphic!
